Bio
In her 30 plus years of practice, Laura Kristin Sundberg has handled a wide variety of matters in the Trust and Estates arena. Using her practical and personal approach, she specializes in advising beneficiaries and fiduciaries about their rights and duties. She is adept at handling complex and contested estate, trust and guardianship administration; litigation and general fiduciary related problems resolution, as well as tax, business and personal estate planning, and has special experience advising non-United States citizens. Laura gained practical experience as an Estate Tax Attorney with the Internal Revenue Service and from her work at SunTrust Bank, where she served the Trust Department as Fiduciary Counsel and managed the Estate, Guardianship and IRA Administration Departments. A graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A. 1984, J.D. 1987), Laura is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Wills, Trusts & Estates, AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and selected among their Preeminent Women Lawyers. Laura has lectured at Florida Bar Seminars, Florida Trust School and Florida Judicial College, and written numerous times on Trusts and Estates topics, including authoring chapters in The Florida Bar Publication, Administering Trusts in Florida. Laura was also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a mediator. Laura is a past Chair of the Florida Bar CLE Committee, a current Vice-Chair of the Professionalism and Ethics Committee, and the Past Chair of both the Attorney Trust Officer Liaison Conference, and multiple Conventions for the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, and a longstanding member of its Executive Council.
