How are my medical bills compensated?

Once the claim is approved, the healthcare facilities (excluding pharmacies) that have provided treatment for your work-related injury should submit their bills to the Managed Care Organization (MCO). The MCO evaluates and calculates the charges, then sends them electronically to the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC). The BWC remunerates the MCO, who subsequently distributes payment to the healthcare providers.
