How much of our time will this take?

Initiating a personal action or choosing not to participate in a collective action will require more time compared to staying as a nonparticipating class member, which demands minimal time. The amount of additional time necessary will vary based on the particular circumstances of each case and the extent of involvement desired by the individual client. Generally, the client will need to review complaint drafts and significant court filings. If the case proceeds to discovery, pertinent documents will need to be gathered and duplicated. Occasionally, it may be necessary to depose the individual with the most knowledge regarding the relevant securities transactions. However, many times these cases are settled without requiring such depositions. Lastly, if mediation occurs, the client must assess and approve settlement proposals with the guidance of legal counsel.
