What does it mean to be “on standby” for jury duty?

If you are chosen as a juror, you will need to be accessible to go to the courthouse whenever required during your duty period. This does not indicate that you have to physically show up at the courthouse every day, but you must phone in as instructed and be prepared to attend when instructed to do so.
You can find details about your standby period in the Duration of Service section of your information sheet or click the division link below.
