What happens if I find myself in a situation as a juror where I have an unforeseen event that requires my immediate attention?

If you are fulfilling your duty as a juror, it is crucial that you adhere to the necessary reporting requirements and maintain punctuality. Absences can potentially cause delays or even put trials at risk. In the event of an emergency, such as a sudden illness or a bereavement in your family, it is important to follow the instructions provided by the court. However, if you are unable to do so, it is advisable to contact the jury staff in the division where your jury service is scheduled to take place.
If a situation arises where someone needs to reach you urgently during your jury service, they should contact the jury staff in the division where your jury duty is being carried out. A message will be promptly relayed to you in such circumstances. Please ensure that the person contacting the jury staff specifies that you are currently serving as a juror.
