Alternative dispute resolution has gained popularity in recent years due to the cost and the increasing number of cases in local and federal courts. Arbitration is akin to a trial where each party presents witnesses and evidence to an arbitrator (or a panel of impartial arbitrators) who ultimately issues a binding decision.
