What is the Meeting of Debtors?

This is a planned gathering, occurring around 30 days after your bankruptcy has been submitted to the court. It does not involve a judge, but instead, a Supervisor, typically an attorney selected by the court to supervise your case. The Supervisor is authorized to pose inquiries under oath about your possessions and liabilities, typically lasting no more than five minutes. It is also possible for creditors to attend and ask you questions, although it is uncommon for a creditor to be present.
