Who determines my bond?

Bonds are determined at the law enforcement office by the authorities. A “bond mediator” who moves between different law enforcement offices has the power to override the authorities. Telephone directories and lists of bond agencies available at most law enforcement offices can provide information on locating a bond agent. Their commission, which is not refundable, varies between 7 and 10 percent of the bond amount.
