Who is considered responsible for a car accident involving a pedestrian?

Usually, the driver of the vehicle is considered responsible in pedestrian accidents. Nevertheless, there are situations where the driver may not be held accountable. For instance, if a pedestrian suddenly enters a road and gets hit by a car, the driver may not be deemed liable. If a pedestrian fails to exercise reasonable caution and this results in a car accident, the pedestrian could be deemed at fault.
